abstract: An experiment designed to test the physics of the plasma wake-field accelerator (PWFA) using the ANL (Argonne National Laboratory) Advanced Accelerator Test Facility is described. A discussion of theoretical predictions is followed by a status report on the experimental study of the plasma source and diagnostics, the beam diagnostics, and the computer control and data acquisition. The experimental goals are briefly examined. (8 References).
